"if we wait until we are ready, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives"

Writer: vargasbrivargasbri

I don't know where to start.

My thoughts are all over the place:

"Where do I begin?"

"Do I reflect on Bali? Events? Concepts from journal entries?"

"Do I give overviews so that the people reading have a better sense of what's going on?"

Then I step back.

I breathe.

I ask myself, "Why did you even make this blog? What is your vision, Bri?"

And I laugh.

I didn't create this blog so that I could make sense to other people, nor to explain myself.

I created this blog to express myself.

And how I do so is the beauty in the self-expression.

So here I am - "beginning".

I sit down.

I lay my two eyes on the vision I have written down for myself and this blog.

I get antsy so I make some tea.

I sit back down, silence my phone.

I open my laptop.

And then, I begin.

It's choppy, it's ugly, it's got me feeling uneasy. Disorganized.

This whole "following your dream" thing is not as easy as it looks.

It certainly is a romantic concept.

When in reality, it is terrifying. Uncomfortable.

If you wait until you are "ready", you will be waiting for the rest of your life.

Kudos to Lemony Snicket for coming up with that one.

So you know that thing you have been waiting to do until the "right moment" comes along.

This is your sign.

Give yourself permission to chase your dreams, regardless of what "might" happen if you fail.

I cannot guarantee that this path to your heart's desire is linear.

Rationally, I can nearly guarantee the opposite.

There will be bumps, bruises, but the first thing that we do is begin.

From there, you just keep moving forward.

Reference your vision often.

I love you.

Let's do this.
